Photographer: Anne Lohr, Tacoma, Washington
Image Title: Shore Blown
Category: Plants

Technical Details: Nikon N70, 28-80 zoom lens, Kodak Plus-X film
Location: Oregon Coast
Description: A winter day on the Oregon Coast, a leaf is washed upon the shore. Time blows by on a cold, dry, sandy wind. Soon the leaf is recycled by nature, becoming another form. Even we ourselves will return, time and time again, just as the ebb and flow of the tide, the changing of the seasons, and the leaf blown upon the shore.

Anne Lohr was raised in various locations throughout the western United States. As a child, she was very inquisitive and her father started her on a lifelong path of discovery of the wonders of the earth and photography. Anne studied Studio Art at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas and has worked in the photo industry for over 15 years. Today she and her husband Rob, a wilderness ranger and fellow photographer, are residents of the Puget Sound area of Washington State.

Anne feels photography compliments her fascination of geology and flora. In addition to color photography, she enjoys experimenting with alternative processes in the darkroom. She hopes her images will entice people to stop and take notice of simple moments. Anne is an avid wilderness hiker and practices "Leave No Trace" ethics.
