Image Title: Elephants on Safari
Category: Wildlife

Technical Details: Nikon F5, Nikon 400mm f/2.8 ED lens, f/5.6 at 1/400 second, Kodak T-Max 100, sepia added in PhotoShop, printed on an Epson 2200 printer
Location: Masai Mara National Game Reserve, Kenya
Description: This image was shot while I was on safari in the Masai Mara in Kenya. I was staying at "Cottar's 1920's-Style Safari Camps," which uses elements of the 1920's lifestyle to simulate the feeling of being on safari during the time when Hemingway and Roosevelt ventured out on the African Plains. This allowed me to capture this photograph with a vintage 1920's automobile in the foreground…a big plus! You can see that one of the tourists on safari is peeking around the person in front directly at the bull elephant leading this herd, who is staring right back at him, a mere twenty yards away, at most.
