Description: First I heard it. Then I saw it. The sky, bathed with the pink glow of sunrise, literally went dark with tens of thousands of Canadian Snow Geese. In an instant, I knew why I had come to New Mexico. It was for the birds. I wanted to tell their story. I watched them as they leapt into the sky, wave upon wave. Driven by instinct and on cue, they made their departure for the fields for a breakfast of grain. And they did it in an instant. This most moving experience was over in less than 60 seconds.
